12th September, nestled in the heart of Manhattan, Great Jones Spa transported guests at The Mac Millan show to another world.  The idyllic atmosphere and light modern space offered a perfect antidote from the hustle and bustle of the Bryant Park tents and perfectly complimented Mac Millans' fresh style.

For Summer 2007 designer Jane McMillan returned to her Scottish heritage and the show opened with a waterfall and Scottish harp music.  Floaty draped silk chiffon kilt dresses evoked the timeless romance of Scotland's ancient heritage and a mauve and lemon print inspired by traditional tartans had a fresh contemporary feel.

Signature Mac Millan prints showed Mac Millan's genius for colour, predominantly an effervescent explosion on dainty whimsical dresses and a sensational highlight of the show was an airy voluminous apricot chiffon evening dress attributing the face of Jane's muse.

But a girl can't get by on delicate sugary dresses alone and to that end Jane developed her eye for elegant lean jersey shapes to add an air of substantial reality, as did a gleaming silver 50's coat.  Also new for Mac Millan were attention-grabbing novel black jersey draped shapes.

Mac Millan was founded in 1997 by its designer Jane McMillan who wanted to carve a niche in the fashion universe with her unique vision of colour and texture.

Jane was born on the South West coast of Scotland in the small sea-side town of Stranraer which has been a major source of inspiration for her print designs.  She moved to London to study womenswear at The London Fashion Institute where she won many awards for design including one from The British Council presented by Lady Diana, The Princess of Wales.

Jane further enhanced her skills in the fashion houses of Ally Capellino, Bella Freud, and with fashion legend, Ossie Clark.  She has also been a visiting lecturer at Central Saint Martins College and, rather than work at international fashion house Jill Sander, launched her first collection which was stocked by London boutique 'Koh Samui'.

Original printed silks create an intoxicating synergy of fresh modern silhouettes which are immaculately finished wearable pieces.    The whole infused with a creativity that makes Mac Millan collections unique in the fashion landscape.   As Collezioni World Book says' .'The highly feminine image derives from fluid sensual dresses. Carefully selected materials are highly recherche so as to highlight her idea of women. Originally worked fabrics complete this seductive and refined look'

Mac Millans' goal is to consolidate its position as a leading fashion brand crafting innovative collections for a receptive market.   In September 2004 they made their catwalk debut at New York Fashion Week with an audience consisting of the fashion worlds opinion formers.  Seductive dresses have captured the interest of the worldwide press and become a favourite with celebrities including Sarah Ferguson The Duchesse of York, Dannii Minogue, Lady Isabella Hervey, Therese from Stonebridge, Paris Hilton and Joan Kaner of Neiman Marcus.  For more information about Jane Mac-Millan please visit: www.mac-millan.com
