Betsey Johnson Melrose Christmas Soiree 2011 At Eden - definedLA and Socialite Stepchild Bring Betsey Family 2gether

There’s a crowd running around Hollywood called the ‘in’ crowd. In fact, there are many crowds running around Hollywood, and there are many ‘in’ crowds. From Eden, Drai’s Hollywood, to Angels and Kings, groups and groupies are in abundance. So let me introduce you to one such group playing in fashion eventress, full blown DJ spinning glory around the top charts of L.A. social life – Dim Mak rep babies Cody Browne of definedLA and Steven Griffin of Socialite Stepchild in full tow last night with local celebrity in-their-own-right DJs Metric, Keith2.0., and Filthy Rich [Dime Piece]; to celebrate the holidays compliments of none other than Lynda Nguyen of Betsey Johnson Melrose.

Originating from Betsey Johnson Melrose, the Chrisoliday soiree was exclusively formulated to promote its location and celebrate the holidays with clientele, friends and affiliates. It takes two to tango and it takes many more to throw an exclusively successful event. Thanks in large part to the sophistication of talents DJMetric, Keith2.0, and Filthy Rich; along with a special guest spinning by Fernando Garibay [Interscope/Lady Gaga producer with four Grammy Nominations, five number one's and several top ten records]; Betsey Johnson Melroses’ party is one worth mention on the L.A. party circuit this season.

Events through definedLA and Socialite Stepchild are geared to fashion elitest and industry professionals who have a mix of trend sense. “There’s a lot of flannel,” commented one guest, who headed out for an early bedtime.  There was also a lot of everything else, including Nguyen in the ROSELLA Strapless Dress by Betsey Johnson.

Splash: Do you promote parties like this frequently? What are some other events you are responsible for?

CB: Steven and I are frequently involved with several weekly events in Los Angeles: Myself with the local DIM MAK parties, Dim Mak Tuesdays at Dim Mak Studios, and Dim Mak Sundays at Drai's Hollywood. Steven is responsible for hosting LIL Death [presented by OVERTHROW] and hosting Drai's on Thursday's for Moonlight Swim. You may have heard of an event Steven and I have thrown together in the past; a re-occuring monthly event called "FEVER" which was poolside at the Roosevelt Hotel and featured sounds from our local friends and DJ's: DJ Metric, Keith 2.0, iSHOWmyself, and Thee Mike B, an affair for summer’s tastemaker crowd.

Splash: Important contributing sponsors and collaborators?

CB: We didn't have to do a buy out with the venue, due to the draw Betsey Johnson has and the reputation and networks myself and Steven Griffin are involved in [with proven successful past events] EDEN Nightclub and SBE Entertainment Group were gracious enough to allow us to throw the event at their venue, knowing it would draw high capacity with a great looking holiday crowd, including our regulars, fans and friends of Betsey Johnson.

Splash: Any future events you will be involved in?

CB:  All I can mention is that it will be with some real "DOPE" botiques on melrose that throw pretty "SUPREME" events!

“Even though we’re not in the club, its popping out here,” jokes Andrew Smalls, who let a cut in line despite the half hour wait to get in. Most guests were dressed to thrill, with a Nylon Photographer in the building, and THE LOVE RIOT begging for new footage of fresh faces. Hued in pink roses and light shades of red,  the party was a smashing success.

Gift bags were generously provided by Betsey Johnson Melrose, if you were lucky enough to get one; it included a sweet little lamb’s leather clutch I’m donating to a non-vegan.
